Chamber Ambassadors

Chamber Ambassadors are a select group of volunteers who assist the chamber in the mission of promoting the economic prosperity of our region.  If you have never attended a chamber event, one of our Ambassadors would love to invite you as a guest. Marcee Binder, Executive Director and Pastor

In 2014, Marcee Binder moved to Pittsburg, Kansas to start her appointment at Wesley House as the Executive Director and Pastor. Wesley House is an outreach mission of First United Methodist Church which assists local Crawford County residents who are underserved and underemployed. Wesley House’s two largest projects are the emergency food pantry and daytime homeless shelter. Marcee graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business (’99) and a Masters of Business Administration (’02). She is currently working on her Masters of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology in Denver and is expected to graduate in 2019. Marcee loves to volunteer around the community and she serves on many local nonprofit boards. Binder and her husband, Zach have four dogs, three of which are adopted from local area rescue organizations. .


Adam Bradshaw, Production Manager

Adam Bradshaw has lived in Pittsburg all of his life.  He graduated from Pittsburg High School and then went on to graduate from Pittsburg State University in 2010 with a degree in Science in the electrical field.  Now he is the Production/Building Manager at The Finishing Touch.  He recently oversaw the expansion project and relocation of The Finishing Touch wholesale division to 808 E. Jefferson in Pittsburg.  He spends his free time with his family and volunteering for organizations including Ducks Unlimited and CASI Chili International.  He and his lovely wife, Beth, have two daughters; Marlee and Becca.

Beth Bradshaw, General Manager

Beth is a Pittsburg native and has been a strong community advocate and supporter her entire life. As general manager, Bradshaw has helped her family business, The Finishing Touch, grow into one of the area’s most successful small businesses. One of Bradshaw’s most notable volunteer projects is the NICU Helping Hands Angel Gown program, which provides comfort for bereaved families through the gift of beautiful custom made gowns that are repurposed from used wedding dresses. Bradshaw serves as a facilitator for the youth program at First United Methodist Church, volunteers with George Nettels’ PTO, Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, Pittsburg Renaissance FCE, and has been a lifelong member of Ducks Unlimited. In 2012, she helped start the Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Dance Program, for which she serves as director. Bradshaw and her husband, Adam, have two daughters; Marlee and Becca.

 

Shannon Brutchin, County Manager

Shannon Brutchin is the County Manager for Security 1st Title in Pittsburg. She has been in the title industry for 11 years and enjoys researching, closings, and working with customers. In addition to being a Chamber Ambassador, Shannon is also a member of the Pittsburg Rotary Club and the Pittsburg Area Young Professionals. She has been married for 15 years and has three wonderful children: Trenton age 14, Samantha age 11 and Hunter age 5.

Suzy Collins is owner of Custom Awards, LLC, a local business that provides trophies, plaques, medals, crystal and acrylic awards, signage, engraving, gifts and many other options. Suzy is a graduate of Pittsburg State University, where she received a BS in commercial graphics and a minor in marketing. After graduation, Suzy worked at DEPCO, LLC as a graphic designer, photographer and technical writer. Eight years later Suzy and her husband, Cameron, had twin boys, Brenden and Colten, and she chose to become a stay at home mom. When the boys started kindergarten she started working for Jim and Ellen Berger at Custom Awards Plus. Two years later she was given the opportunity to purchase Custom Awards Plus. Today, Suzy’s purpose and passion lies in the community and offering her talents and service to her customers.


Zac Dickey, Owner

Zac grew up in Pittsburg, KS where he graduated from St. Mary’s-Colgan High School with honors before pursuing a collegiate football career that took him to Oklahoma State University as well as Fort Scott Community College before earning the starting QB position at Pittsburg State University in 2010; PSU won the National Title in Zac’s senior season.
Upon graduating from PSU, Zac enjoyed a start to his professional career as a medical sales consultant in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas before settling into the insurance industry. He did so by joining a family-held independent agency in Pittsburg; a chance to be back in his hometown was the ultimate goal. After spending more than three years in the industry, Zac teamed up with Brannon Green- also an industry veteran- to open Next Generation Insurance Family. NGIF is an independent agency focused on transparency, sustainability and efficiency through technology while boasting a local presence.
If you don’t see Zac in the office after hours, then you will find him and his wife, Nicole, making a mess with their dog, Huck.


Pam Henderson, District Director

Born and raised near Girard, Pam Henderson is a life-long resident of Crawford County. She moved to Pittsburg to attend Pittsburg State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in political science and business administration. Pam is a district director for U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) where she helps constituents with issues related to various federal agencies and regularly visits communities, businesses and organizations throughout southeast Kansas. Previously she was employed with Pittsburg State University, the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Pitt-Plastics and served as a Pittsburg City Commissioner as well as Mayor. She has served on numerous boards and been involved in many organizations including Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, United Way, SEK Inc. and Noon Rotary


Dr. Mark Johnson, University Professor

A University Professor at Pittsburg State University's College of Technology Department of Technology and Workforce Learning, Dr. Johnson teaches classes in Human Resource Development and Industrial Management and is a coordinator of PSU's newly established Minor in Innovation Engineering. Known as Pittsburg State University’s “Memory Guy”, he learns and remembers the names of every student in his classes the very first night of class. Dr. Johnson is a frequent presenter at state, national, and international conferences. He has been named Outstanding Teaching Faculty at PSU three times and was named the National Outstanding Career and Technical Educator in 2000. An active member of Gorilla Toastmasters, Dr. Johnson was most recently awarded the Toastmasters International organization's highest honor as Distinguished Toastmaster August 2014. Dr. Johnson has been a champion for the Chamber's Leadership programs for more than a decade, helping create the Crawford County Youth Leadership Program and the Leadership High Program that have reached the lives of more than 8,000 students since 2003. He was recognized as the Chamber Volunteer of the Year in 2012. He resides in Pittsburg with his wife Jacki.


Brian Lorimer, Loan Officer

Brian Lorimer has 12 years finance experience with time at Abbey Title Company, Arvest Bank and now Community National Bank. He enjoys working hand in hand with borrowers to achieve their financial needs. Brian has been married to his beautiful wife for 12 years and has three amazing children; Miranda, Cheyenna, and Chandler. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family; playing, officiating and coaching volleyball; or remodeling their loft home in downtown Galena, KS.

Within the past 2 years, Julie has returned to the Crawford County area after living in the Wichita Metro area for the past 16 years and studied Political Science at the University of Maryland. She has served on many state and national committees such as the League of Kansas Municipalities, a National League of Cities Small Cities Council Representative and she also served as a Governing Body Member for 4 years at the City of Andover, KS. Her current position is the Director of Resource Development for SEK at the United Way of SWMO & SEK. Julie currently is involved in Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, Pittsburg Noon Rotary, Paint the Town Red Committee, Crawford County Youth Leadership, a member of the Pittsburg Lion's Club and volunteers her time to many other organizations throughout the community.

 In 2012, after finishing Massage Therapy School in Napa, California, Laura purchased Girlfriends Fitness Center, a women’s only gym. This was the perfect place to including her massage therapy practice, naming it "A Touch of Napa Massage and Wellness", welcoming both men and women. In 2013 Laura moved the business to 428 W 4th expanding from 1300 square feet to 4000. The expansion allowed her to incorporate a full service salon, tanning, spray tanning, a counselor, esthetician, body contouring and a variety of other services. Laura was raised in Humboldt, KS and graduated from Allen County Community College, to continue her education at PSU earning a degree in industrial psychology. Laura later graduated from Labette County Community College with and an associate’s degree in early childhood education. Laura recently celebrated 25 years of marriage to Richard. They have three boys and are active in boy scouts.


Wade Schossow, Commercial Loan Officer

After graduating from Pittsburg State University in 2006, Wade joined Commerce Bank as a Commercial Loan Officer in January of 2007. His responsibilities are primarily relationship management and business development for the wide range of commercial services provided by Commerce Bank, including trust, brokerage and mortgage services. Wade is active in several community organizations. He is a Past President of Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, member and Past President of the Pittsburg Sunrise Rotary, and serves as the President of the Mt Carmel Hospital Foundation board of directors. He also volunteers his time with the United Way, YouthFriends, various projects through Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, and serves as a volunteer coach for JL Hutch Little League Baseball league. In 2014, Wade married Lindsay Schossow and they welcomed their first child, Cruz, in 2015

Marsha Wallace, Business & Community Development Manager

Following completion of her BBA and MBA at PSU, Marsha began working at Empire District Electric in Joplin. In 1995, she became the Manager of Economic Development and graduated from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma in 1998. Marsha recently retired and is now a full-time volunteer. She is active in various professional and civic organizations including as the Chair of the SW Missouri Workforce Investment Board, Secretary and Committee Chair of the Joplin Regional Partnership, and Treasurer of Crawford County Republican Women. She also serves on the boards of the SEK Prosperity Foundation, Neosho Area Business and Industry Foundation, Community Support Services of SW Missouri, and Columbus Economic Development Corporation and is active in Joplin Rotary, MO Economic Development Council, and First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pittsburg where she sings in the choir and serves on the worship committee.


Kari West, Commercial & Industrial Business Manager

As a regional business manager, Kari works as an energy advisor across 14 counties in Southeast Kansas. She grew up south of Girard, just a mile from where she and husband, Matt, farm today. Kari attended Kansas State University and earned a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Communications. Her experience in Marketing and Communications led her to positions at Fort Scott Community College, the City of Parsons as PIO/Community Development Director, and currently to Westar Energy. She was named one of Joplin Business Journal's 40 Under 40 and has earned two Kansas Department of Commerce Main Street Awards for program development and marketing. She has a passion for improving the region and is an active member of the Project 17 - Together We Succeed Board of Directors, was elected to the K-State Research & Extension Wildcat District Board, and is a member of the Kansas Economic Development Alliance. She also works with students through the Crawford County Youth Leadership Program among other volunteer activities.
