The Business Education Alliance promotes the partnership between schools and businesses in Crawford County to identify workforce needs and develop strategies to provide students with knowledge of various career expectations and requirements. This collaboration is made possible by the work of many professionals in the area, along with the City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and USD 250.
The BEA hosts several events during the school year such as Mock Interviews, Crawford County Career Opportunities Day and Job Shadow Day, among other events.
The BEA operates as a link between schools and businesses. Partcipating in BEA and their events is of benefit to area employees in that they can seek out potential and qualified employees, get their company information to students and identify needed job skills. Schools that participate in BEA see crucial benefits to students such as they get to meet employers in a private setting, have the opportunity to develop their interview skills, along with exploring their options after graduation. Schools also see the benefit as an institution that can create connections with area employers and match curriculum with business and community needs.
